Whether it be the peaceful activities of walking, cycling, and horseriding which are available from Madre itself, with the tranquil Mayenne river only two kilometers to the North, and the Ferme de Cheme farm museum one kilometer to the South.

The peaceful village of Madre contains a friendly cafe/bar, post office, children's playing area, butchers, and a bakery which serves delicious freshly baked bread every morning just across the square.
